The U.S. has picked a location to restart its TNT production domestically as it races to ramp up 155mm production.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The U.S. Army awarded a $435 million contract on Friday to build a TNT production plant in western Kentucky that will become the first domestic source for the explosive material in decades, officials said.

The new facility, which will be completed by November 2028, will see Trinitrotoluene produced in the US for the first time in decades.
