A dad is calling his 12-year-old son a hero after the boy saved his life during a black bear attack while on a hunting trip in Burnett County, Wis.

A young boy who saw a black bear attacking his father fired a shot, saving his father's life during a hunting trip in Wisconsin. A 200-pound bruin was on top of Ryan Biereman when he heard a gunshot from his 12-year-old son's hunting rifle.

SIREN, Wis. — A boy saved his father's life during a bear attack earlier this month in western Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says the attack happened east of Siren in southern Burnett County.
